Since I love nature and being in the fresh air, I loved volunteering on Amy`s Farm. Being able to pick fresh produce, clean it, and then take it home was a unique experience. Knowing the food I brought home was in the ground a few hours ago, and that I worked on harvesting it made me feel accomplished and special.

Nothing is wasted in the farm! Feeding the cows with the weeds I harvested while cleaning the soil.

I harvested radishes, cleaned them, and sorted them based on size. Items that were too small or too big were donated to the local food pantry while the perfect sized radishes were sold in the market.

Animals are an inherent part of the farm. Spending time around the animals reminded me of fond memories I have of visiting my grandmother’s farm when I was a child.
